THE SUNSET

My bare feet sink into the silver sand,
Tiny sea shells I hold in my hand,
As I walk on the beach at close of day,
Living the moment, bidding it stay,
Sea water trickles between my toes,
The sky is the colour of deepest rose,
Blush tinted clouds with a hint of blue,
As the golden sun gives a rainbow hue.

The red sun sets on the azure blue sea,
Millions of dancing diamonds are free,
This is the culmination of Gods creation
Staring in wonder and filled with elation,
Sand is an hourglass through my fingers,
While the sun goes down as twilight lingers,
A glorious end to a perfect day,
I shall wait for the sunrise at dawn if I may.
