Tall Trees and Tiny Acorns
Don't Cry
Don't cry without reason my darling,
Don't cry when I'm tellin you, No!
Save those tears 'til you need them,
or one day those tears won't flow.
Please save the small crystal droplets,
Save for what God gave them for.
Save them to ease your emotions,
when the mind or the body is sore.
Tears are so precious, my dearest,
They're made by the angels above,
Made with the rain clouds of heaven,
with salt from the oceans, plus love.
They made them that sad eyes may water,
Made them that glad eyes may shine,
Made them to stream for good reason,
and gave them the taste of the brine.
Tears may ease your frustrations,
Tears may soothe stress or grief,
If you cry without reason my darling,
then those tears will bring no relief.
You may cry because you are happy,
You may cry because you are sad,
Cry when your poor heart is aching,
but to cry without reason is bad.
I will hold you if your heart is breaking,
I will wipe precious tears away.
Don't force those tears for the making,
you may need them to cry so, one day
Never cry for the sake of just crying,
Those are the tears, self styled,
Those are the tears without reason,
and you cried them for nothing, my child.
