Words


Words can heal a broken heart or break a heart in two,
Be careful how you use those words, they may come back to you.
Words can split a nation, words can end a war,
Words can start a love affair, or close a friendly door.

Bantered words can make you laugh or hurt you deep inside,
The love you meant to give with them is altered and denied.
Words of double meaning can hurt beyond belief,
Sarcasm, the lowest form of wit, steals humour like a thief.

Words can be misunderstood, a different meaning heard,
Be careful how you use those words, they may become absurd.
Words of love and kindness, can heal the greatest wrong,
They live to last eternal, remembered all life long.
