Robert's grave is adjacent to the grave of William LAWSON and her sister, Margaret Pears

According to her father's will, his wife, Jane, was a widow in 1853 but on the tombstone Robert died June 16, 1861.

Robert was alive in 1851.

The tombstone was very worn, I have possibly made a mistake. Possibly it was Jane who died June 16, 1861, I could not find her in the 1881 census. Certificate Needed.

Robert was 39 years old when the 1851 Census was recorded.

Jane's sister HANNAH GOURLAY, was present at the birth.

1851 Census: - Jane and her husband and their family were living with her parents in 1851. She was listed as working as a servant in the home of her parents, her husband Robert, was listed as a servant to a Husbandsman.

Grandaughter, ELIZABETH GOURLAY is also a live in servant, she is aged 22 years, daughter of HANNAH PEARS and THOMAS GOURLAY.
