Beatrix according to the DOOMSDAY BOOK of 1286, (the sister of Ralph Pomeroy and William the Goat Pomeroy), as Lord, she held 6 properties in Devon, three from each brother.
Beatrix is said to have been Abbess of the Benedictine Abbey at St Michaels Mount which she held for William.
The Exchequer Book, and the Doomsday Book name her as the sister of Ralph and William "the Goat", but neither of the brothers is known to have held land at St Michael's Mount.
Either Edward, or William the Conqueror, gave the island of St Michaels Mount to the Benedictine order at Mont Saint-Michel, but apparently for over 1200 years the first Benedictine habitation was as a Priory to complement the Abbey at Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, in the 11th century.
No Prioress is listed there in any known records.
Berry Pomeroy in Devon is the home of Berry Pomeroy Castle built by Radulphus, (Ralph) the 28 x great grandfather of my son in law, David Blenkinsop. The family held possession until the second year of the reign of King Edward VI, when the castle was sold to Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, who was brother to Jane Seymour (third wife of Henry VIII.)
Historians give differing accounts as to how the Seymours succeeded the Pomeroys in ownership.

History records the three Pomeroy brothers, William, Hugh and Ralph, accompanied the Duke of Normandy, William the Conquerer, at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. I would therefore expect their birthdates to have been between the years of 1040 and 1048.
According to the Domesday Book of 1086, William "the Goat" held 49 properties in Devon and 1 in Cornwall, as either Lord, Tenant-in-Chief, or both.

Sir Radulphus( Ralph) Pomeroy
Radulphus de Pomeroy was born in Pomeraie, Normandy in France. He was a knight who came to England with William the Conqueror and fought with him at the Battle of Hastings..
William “the Conqueror gifted to Sir Randulphus Pomeroy, 58 lordships in Devon and a
further 12 lordships in Somerset. Radulphus Pomeroy was a benefactor to the St. John the Baptist Hospital at Falaise in Normandy. He was appointed a Commissioner to the Guard and Transport of the King's Treasury at Winchester.
Pomeroy or De La Pommeraie is a surname documented from the 11th century.
Currently spelled as Pomeroy.
There are several La Pommeraye in Normandy, but the sources mention generally two possible birth places of this family, both are in Lower Normandy.
One is in the Cotentin Peninsula on the commune of Saint-Sauveur-la-Pommeraye, which is now in the Manche département, 12 km from Granville. In which case, Radulf's father would be a certain Roger de la Pomeroi, born in 990-1000.
The château Ganne at La Pommeraye is believed to be the original seat of the family and the de la Pomeroi founded the Val Abbey at Saint-Omer, Calvados.
William, Hugh and Ralph, sons of Roger, were three brothers who accompanied William
The Conqueror in the conquest of England, and eventually all of Britain.
Radulphus might, in today's terms be considered "Chief of Staff", of this family. He appears to have acted as the elder of the siblings, and holds the majority of grants from King William I.
Hugo is believed to have died during the battle. Although brothers, surnames were not common at the time, and the family were not identified as siblings by their surnames.
William, known as Capra ("The Goat") also held many properties in Devon, listed under that name. He may also have adopted what is possibly his mother's surname,
'Chièvres', (a village in Hanault, near the current French-Belgium border). 'Radulphus took the surname de la Pommerai (meaning of the apple orchard).
After the Battle of Hastings, Radulphus was bestowed a considerable number of land holdings in England. According to the Domesday Book of 1086, as Radulphus (Ralph) De La Pommeraie, he held numerouse properties, as either Lord or Tenant-in-chief or both; 98 in Devon, 2 in Somerset, and 1 in Cornwall. His brother, William "the Goat" held 49 properties in Devon and 1 in Cornwall, again as either Lord, Tenant-in-Chief, or both. Beatrix (sister of Ralph of Pomeroy and William the goat),[ held 6 properties of her brothers, as Lord, 3 from each brother and all in Devon.
There is, evidently, a story, that Beatrix became abbess of the Benedictine abbey at St
Michaels Mount which she held for William. She is named as his Ralf's sister in the Michaels Mount which she held for William and as his Ralf's sister in the Exchequer Book and in the Doomsday Book as brother of Ralph and William "the Goat," but neither brother held land at St Michael's Mount.
