Tall Trees and Tiny Acorns
I Light For You A Candle
I did not hear another song,
I could not hear, the words were wrong,
They did not dance, they did not turn,
Another tune they would not learn,
I did not hear your laughter, or see the sun shine,
I tasted only bitterness, I wished for sweetest wine.
I could not hear the birds sing, nor the buzzing of the bees,
I could not see the flowers, nor the leaves upon the trees,
I tried to light a candle but my tears doused the flame,
Today I light a candle, until we meet again,
I light for you a candle, to burn in heaven above,
To never more extinguish, with tears of grief and love.
As I was the dancing moth, in your candlelight,
You will be the brightest star in my sky at night.
The time has come to rest in peace,
You will not rest 'til my tears cease,
Today I light your candle, to let the hour go,
No more to shed a tear or feel a chill wind blow.
I will see you in each rainbow and in each setting sun
I will see you in their halo's each and everyone,
Feel you on a breathe of wind, your face in clouds above,
I know my guardian angel waits for me with love,
Now I light your candle, to let you rest in peace,
It will burn eternally and now my tears will cease.
