Tall Trees and Tiny Acorns
A Little Part Of You

Although you are gone my darling,
I will often see your face,
Sometimes that face is dirty,
in fact a real disgrace,
It may be only three years old,
or perhaps its thirty two,
I only have to look around,
in offspring, I see you.

Although you are gone my darling,
I still can feel your love,
I feel it in our children,
our gifts from heaven above,
In our children's children,
in the special things they do,
Everything about them,
reminds me, dear, of you.

Although you are gone my darling,
I will never be alone,
You left behind so much of you,
I am never on my own,
In the timbre of our son's voice,
I almost hear you talking,
I can see you in a single stride,
Yes! I can see you walking.
In everything they do, there is a little part of you.
